Books
This is a list of books that are helpful for interpreting the Bible as Christ centered.
- The Gospel According to the Old Testament Series
- Grasping God's Word† by J. Scott Duvall and J. Daniel Hays
- Hermeneutics† by Henry Virkler
- Preaching Christ in All of Scripture by Edmund Clowney
- The Unfolding Mystery by Edmund Clowney
- Reformed Expository Commentaries
- On the Old Testament† by Mark Driscoll
- The Old Testament in the New (free online pdf) by C.H. Dodd
- Messianic Exegesis by Donald Juel
- Commentary on the New Testament Use of the Old Testament edited by G.K. Beale and D.A. Carson
Items marked by a † are not necessarily Christocentric. Books on the first steps of exegesis (finding the original message to the original audience) are just as important as the last step (finding what that message tells us about Jesus), however.
